Emergence of Norway maple leaves

Walking by this tree throughout the winter on my way to work, I knew it was a Norway maple because of the bark. However, I had forgotten its summer leaf color. I was thinking it would have green leaves, but it turned out to be one of the purple leafed cultivars.

Swarthmore College Arboretum

While I was at Pendle Hill, I also made a visit to the Swarthmore College Arboretum.

There were a lot of lilacs in bloom, but the pictures I got of them did not come out very well.

There were also a lot of cherry blossoms.

There were dogwoods.

This is apparently Austrian Pine, although when I look up Austrian Pine on the internet, it does not indicate that it has striped bark.

There were also all sorts of other amazing things.  I don't know what they all were, though I did see beech and spruce.  Here are a few more photos of the wonders of the Swarthmore College Arboretum.

Trees at Pendle Hill

I saw lots of nice trees at Pendle Hill, including a black walnut with wisteria growing on it:

Flowering dogwood:

Crabapple:

And dawn redwoods:

Spring continues to emerge in the Norway maples

On April 26, I posted about the progress of the Norway maples by my house. Here's another update.
